When our team of the Auroville Dog Shelter started their work at the shelter last Saturday, we found out that a big part of our 300 dog had developed severe skin problems. As the skin diseases (demodectic and sarcoptic mange) are very contagious we need to take immediate action to get our residents healthy again and contain the spread, so that we don’t endanger any new rescue dogs arrivals to our shelter.

For this we need to order in a very effective, yet expensive medicine named Bravecto and another cheaper one named Simparica for less severe cases. Those two medicines help to cure the skin diseases and additionally help to get rid of all the ticks and fleas, which are another huge health risk our dogs are facing, because of the danger of tick fever. We will place a bulk order to reduce the price and be able to treat all of our dogs, who are suffering tremendously at the moment.

In total we need to raise Rs 1.1 lakh to solve this emergency health crisis for our shelter dog population.
