A New Campaign at the Auroville Dog Shelter
THE NEED
We urgently need to raise Rs. 3 lakh (USD 3000) for the sterilization, vaccination, and post-operative care of 100 dogs within the next 100 days.

THE STORY
The Auroville Dog Shelter, a haven for nearly 300 dogs, urgently needs your help. Last year, a severe canine distemper outbreak claimed the lives of many street dogs in the region. Mother Nature responded with a surge in new life, presenting us with the challenge of caring for numerous unexpected puppies, many of whom we rescued or who have been dumped like trash.
As our shelter reached its capacity, Auroville’s compassionate children stepped up, creating a Puppy Camp that provided a home and care for 45 puppies. We supported them to secure funds for vaccinations, and deworming – and many puppies got adopted.
Together with the Puppy Camp our shelter even hosted a Puppy Adoption Fair on February 4th, resulting in several puppies finding their forever families.
Now, as these puppies grow into teenagers, we face a critical need to sterilize them as soon as possible to prevent more and more puppies.
We guarantee all adopters free sterilization and vaccination for their dogs at our shelter.
