We are so grateful to you!
Below are Results for Community-Funded, Project-Directed Giving for our 4th Annual December Campaign.
Thank you. During this December Double Your Love Campaign, your messages arrived from near and far, through conversations, emails, texts, WhatsApp notes, postcards, and handwritten messages. Through all of it, your love poured in.
It feels truly apropos that this is called the Double Your Love Campaign, because so many gifts came from real relationships and lived experience. Many of you supported projects connected to Auroville. Others reached beyond, rooted in its inspiration and carried outward through friendships, shared values, and the many different ways your lives have been touched over time. What connected these gifts was not geography, but heart.
You connected, and you supported what you care about.
All year, conversations unfolded. Some of you stepped forward first, choosing to offer your generosity as a gift to others and help create the matching pool. When the campaign opened, people around the world responded, knowing your support, and your love, would meet others, doubling, tripling, and amplifying one another. What began as personal acts of giving started to echo back and forth. Each gift strengthened the next and mobilized support for project partners across many places.

Total Donors in December: 692!
418 New Donors
274 Existing Donors
40% increase in overall donors since 2024!
40% of our donors returned for 2025!
26% increase in new donors!
Through AVI USA, your support moves outward, reaching many different projects, each shaped by its own purpose and people, yet connected by shared values.
One donor summed it up simply:
“I am very glad and proud to play a small part.”
Some of you supported projects you had directly benefited from. Some gave because someone you love had. Others had volunteered, studied, or spent meaningful time connected to this work long ago. And some of you simply felt a quiet pull when you encountered a story, a photograph, or a post at just the right moment.
One donor, a longtime member of the Auroville community who has loved Auroville since the early 1970s, now lives on a fixed income. He chose to give to a project close to his heart. He was genuinely happy to know his gift would be doubled and that it would mean more to something precious to him. As he said simply,
“You guys are doing a good thing.”

We congratulate our projects with the highest number of donations:
EcoFemme, Savitri Bhavan, Thamarai and Future School!
Engaging wide circles of supporters is key to growing the projects.
There were many full-circle moments. Alumni stepped forward to support the schools you once attended, or the schools your children attended. Former students, now adults with families of your own, gave with gratitude for what had shaped you. One wrote,
“Thank you! I was happy to support my school. Grateful for what you make possible!”
Some gifts came from much deeper personal journeys. One donor shared how the steady rhythm of updates, along with a postcard, kept bringing the campaign back into her awareness.
“The repeated updates, combined with the postcard, kept reminding me about the campaign,” she shared. “Eventually I knew I needed to give.”
She and her husband had spent several months immersed in this world in 2021–2022, an experience that shifted how they related to daily life, work, and wellbeing. For her, it offered a new understanding of yoga, not just as a practice, but as a way of living.
“This is a different use of the word yoga, literally doing the work. It’s about blending what we do with our physical and mental wellbeing instead of keeping them separate.”
Giving through the Double Your Love Campaign felt like a natural continuation of that experience, her gift joining a shared wave of support.
Some donors carry a long lineage of involvement, reaching back to the early 1970s. One shared memories of teaching at SAICE and working at Equals One, exploring the free progress approach of Integral education that has shaped Auroville’s current schools. He also spent time under the banyan tree, absorbing impressions as the foundations of Auroville were forming. What he shared carried the texture of those early days and a care that he has carried forward ever since.
“And so the great adventure continues.”

Others had only brushed against Auroville briefly, a few hours or a short visit many years ago, yet felt it had always remained part of their lives. One supporter, originally from Chennai and now living in New York, had visited before but didn’t know the school personally. After seeing a post online, he chose to donate, drawn by the work and by his mother’s role as a high school teacher in Chennai. He hopes to return with her and visit the school together.
Another donor, who visited for only a few hours in the late 1970s, shared that
“but it [Auroville] has always been a part of my life. Mother and Sri Aurobindo are part of my life.” He saw a post on Facebook with a donation link and gave on impulse. As he put it, “it was just a spontaneous impulse.”
Some of you hadn’t yet been able to spend time there at all, yet still felt called to support the existence of this work in the world. One donor contributed simply because he noticed the matching goal hadn’t yet been met and wanted to help carry it across the line.
There were also long arcs of generosity. One donor has supported land purchase for over twenty-five years. When he was younger, encouraged by his father, he began giving even when he had very little. He credits that practice with his life opening in unexpected ways and shared, “It is Mother’s Grace that she has enabled us to contribute.”
Many of you expressed gratitude for the campaign itself and for the way it invited participation. One longtime Aurovilian wrote,
“Now I’m happy to do these small gifts through AVI USA … to take advantage of the doubling promise. Keep doing it and thank you for everything you do for Auroville from there.” Another shared, “Thank you to organise this great campaign! I find it is the best way to give to Auroville Projects.”
Some of you moved quietly and attentively, scrolling through the list and intentionally giving to projects that hadn’t yet received support. Others came through personal relationships, an old college friend of a project holder, or a high-school classmate moved enough by what they saw to share the project with others.
The campaign carried a distinctly global feeling. Messages arrived from across Europe and beyond, including “Merry Christmas from Berlin,” and from sister AVI groups collaborating in shared support. One supporter shared how impressed she was by the steadiness of this work, and by the way AVI USA serves as a reliable instrument for planetary collaboration and love.
Again and again, messages arrived filled with humility and blessing:
“Thank you for showing me Ma’s project and for letting her choose me as her instrument for it.”“I am very glad and proud to play a small part in your meaningful efforts to keep Auroville’s spirit alive in the world.”“It is an Honor and Blessing to me to help with the little I can.”“Great Abundance towards Auroville in this end of year! Christmas Magic!”
One donor wrote after days of heavy rain,
“Greetings from Auroville!Today sun raised again after for a long rainy days.Thank you for helping Auroville!”
Taken together, your gifts and your words tell a simple, powerful story, of love remembered, love rediscovered, love offered spontaneously, and love amplified as it moved from one person to another, across decades and continents.
