When One Heart Reaches Many:
Building the Bridge Together
This August, AVI USA had the joy of serving as a bridge between one donor’s generosity and the hopes and needs of more than 50 project partners.
We were surprised and delighted when our friend Kant called us and said that he’d like to donate $1,100 for each of our partner projects. For our partners, the gift was more than financial — it was a gesture of trust, care, and encouragement, affirming that their efforts matter and that people across the world believe in the importance of what they are doing.
And the impact did not stop there. From each project partner, the gift rippled outward — reaching into classrooms, farms, health clinics, and shelters, and into the lives of hundreds of people and animals touched by their work.
At AVI USA, building this bridge is at the heart of our work. It depends on trust — trust that grows through clear reporting, transparent accounting, and steady communication with donors. And it depends on relationship — learning together with project partners as they strengthen and thrive and discover new ways to share their stories with the world.
Kant’s generosity flowed across this bridge of trust and relationship. It supported teachers, children, women, animals, and communities. And from there, the impact radiated outward — touching the lives of hundreds in ways large and small.
What This Gift Made Possible
The ripple of this one act of giving was felt across more than 50 project partners. Each one found a way to put this support towards their work — strengthening their efforts and empowering people, communities, and animals. The result was an exponential impact: one gift multiplying into many actions, reaching far beyond the projects themselves. Here are a few examples:
Sadhana Forest welcomed 550 children from nearby villages to experience compassion and sustainability in action — and share a wholesome organic meal that also touched their families.
Aurokiya Eye Care reached children who had never had an eye test before, giving them the chance to see clearly, learn better, and participate more fully in life.
Udavi School repaired a leaky rooftop before the monsoon and fulfilled students’ long-standing wish for sports equipment, bringing joy not just to the children but also to their teachers and parents.
Deepam School continued providing nourishing food, enabling children from families with the least resources to grow and thrive.
Auroville Dog Shelter directed the gift towards preparing their shelter for the rains, creating safer conditions for 250 dogs and the people dedicated to supporting them.
Future School put the donation towards essential operating costs during a year of budget shortfall, sustaining a place of learning for more than 100 young people and supporting the staff who guide them.
Pazhamudircholai Farm used the funds towards purchasing feed for cattle, hiring women from the bioregion, and strengthening orchard protections — sustaining livelihoods, food security, and the land itself.
Each project partner had their own unique story of impact. Taken together, these gifts created exponential impact — nourishing children, sustaining families, empowering communities, and embodying care for animals and the Earth.
